BRIEF HISTORY OF KABUSA LCC

BRIEF HISTORY OF KABUSA LCC SINCE INCEPTION

It is evident, however, that the Hebrew people were a commemorative race; in other words, they were given to creating and presenting memorials of important events. Even in the patriarchal times we find monuments set up in order to commemorate eventsof Jacob (Gen 28:18) "set up a pillar" to perpetuate the memory of the divine promise; and that these monuments had a religious importance and sanction appears from the statement that "he poured oil upon the top of the pillar" (Gen 31:45; Josh 4:9; 1 Sam 7:12; Judg 9:6). Long-lived trees, such as Oaks and Terebinths were made use of as remembrance (Gen 35:4; Josh 24:26). Commemorative names, also, were given to persons, places, and things; and from the earliest periods it was usual to substitute a new and descriptive name for an old one, which may in its origin have been descriptive too (Ex 2; 10; Gen 2:1; 23; 4:1). Genealogical tables appear, moreover, to have had a very early existence among the people of whom the Bible speaks, being carefully preserved first memories, afterwards by writing, among family treasures, and thus transmitted from age to age.
To this ends, Kabusa LCC commemorates 22 years anniversary of Gods’ faithfulness in His master’s plans of redemption history of Kabusa people and environs who were ones walking in darkness, but the great light of gospel has shown the darkness, and the darkness could not behold it any longer. So, this is how the history of Kabusa LCC all began.
The history of Kabusa LCC will not be complete without first of all stating how the gospel entered Kabusa region. There are about three people who opened this society with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. They are Rev.Yepwi Idakwo, Mallam Yusufu Akawu and Mr. MusaTadushekwo. It is believed that Mr. KpowuIyah was the first convert in Kabusa region, it was held that he was converted in the year 1938. Shortly some people joined him as they accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour. They include: Mr. Ashafiyi Bawa, Mr. Koche Iyah and Mr. Dogo Jabiyisnalo. The converts started their meeting in “Dugwe” (entrance hall of a house). This gradually developed as they increased in number till it became a Local Church Board (LCB) under Pyakasa Local Church Council (LCC) in then Abuja DCC,

ACHIEVEMENTS
Just as God has opened the door of faith to the Gentiles in Acts 14:27, the entrance of gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in Kabusa has not only opened the door of faith in Christ alone, but Christianity has become the religion of the inhabitants of Kabusa and ECWA as the indigenous Church.

Also as the Lord opened the door of service to Apostle Paul in Troas (II Cor. 2:12), the entrance of the gospel of Jesus Christ in Kabusa has giving great opportunities for many Pastors to serve in Kabusa LCC. And also, the Lord has rised from Kabusa Sons and daughters to serve as Pastors and in different services such that one of Kabusa industrious sons Rev. Lambe Bawa before his retirement served as the First Abuja DCC Chairman and even rose to the rank of Director of Education in ECWA.
Nevertheless, the Lord in His grace has enable Kabusa LCC to wean another Local Church Council which is Waru LCC on 8 August, 2015. Presently, the Kabusa LCC is made up of nine (9) Local Church Boards (LCBs) and a prayer house which includes:
1. ECWA 1, Kabusa
2.ECWA2, Kabusa
3. ECWAGoodnews, Kabusa
4. ECWAGospel, Kabusa
5. ECWADnakwo
6. ECWAGbuduwyi
7. ECWALokogoma
8. ECWAShereti

ECWA Church  History

The professed love of Christians to each other should be sincere, free from deceit, and unmeaning and deceitful compliments. Depending on Divine grace, they must detest and dread all evil, and love and delight in whatever is kind and useful. We must not only do that which is good, but we must cleave to it. All our duty towards one another is summed up in one word, love. This denotes the love of parents to their children; which is more tender and natural than any other; unforced, unconstrained. And love to God and man, with zeal for the gospel, will make the wise Christian diligent in all his wordly business, and in gaining superior skill. God must be served with the spirit, under the influences of the Holy Spirit. He is honoured by our hope and trust in him, especially when we rejoice in that hope. He is served, not only by working for him, but by sitting still quietly, when he calls us to suffer. Patience for God's sake, is true piety. Those that rejoice in hope, are likely to be patient in tribulation. We should not be cold in the duty of prayer, nor soon weary of it. Not only must there be kindness to friends and brethren, but Christians must not harbour anger against enemies. It is but mock love, which rests in words of kindness, while our brethren need real supplies, and it is in our power to furnish them. Be ready to entertain those who do good: as there is occasion, we must welcome strangers. Bless, and curse not. It means thorough good will; not, bless them when at prayer, and curse them at other times; but bless them always, and curse not at all. True Christian love will make us take part in the sorrows and joys of each other. Labour as much as you can to agree in the same spiritual truths; and when you come short of that, yet agree in affection. Look upon worldly pomp and dignity with holy contempt. Do not mind it; be not in love with it. Be reconciled to the place God in his providence puts you in, whatever it be. Nothing is below us, but sin. We shall never find in our hearts to condescend to others, while we indulge conceit of ourselves; therefore that must be mortified.
